festival/bubble q

i thought it was better than last year.
i think because i knew/meet chef moran, and the students at FIU, before the party, i was at their prep thing last week.
so who did i see:
rick bayless, which dave talked to, and had his pic with, and was happy.
sidenote: i hate bayless myself, and that night his food was terrible, the pork was over done, and there was nothing spicewise on the pork.
i took one bite and threw it out.
sam from top chef season 2 very good looking in person, and really tall
sidenote: i thought it was harold from season 1, thank god, i didn't say i god damn word.
i just had in my mind... then of course i knew.

ted allen from queer eye for the straight guy, and top chef.
sidenote: we were just standing next to him, and then "fans" saw him, and were like, i love you, take my pic..... blah blah, and then all ted wanted to do was exit stage left. fans are annoying, i was just happy standing by him myself.

michael ruhlman: writer, i was hyped to see him, if you don't know who it is, it is a friend of bourdain, and i just happen to see the cleavland show of no reservations, and i was more excited to see him than bourdain. (i saw bourdain at the festival, not this night)
al roker, who cares...

there were fire dancers there, and at one point this dancer was taking her top off, and topless and trying to fit a ballon over her head. it was weird.

people this year, were not into the food booths as last year because last year, the booth lines were really long, this year, not so much at all.

i meet jennifer of jennifer's homemade, this girl was walking with a basket, and olffered me a breadstick of sorts, and i say is this jennifer's homemade, and she said sheit is, and i said i love her stuff, she says, i'm jennifer, and i say, i saw you in the martha show, i was it, this is great. etc etc.
later as we were leaving, i saw her again, and took her pic with the magazine, and she gave me, 2 giant bags of her crackers and breadsticks, like to grocery bags of the stuff. it was super funny, i was hyped.
so after we walked throught the delano hotel, and i just started mingling.

ok, then on to the victor hotel party, which peoplewise, blew all this out the door.


sidenote: i find during this and after the lunchin, when people are like, oh i love you, i love the show, take my pic, i find it gross...

sidenote 2: basically the 4th wall is broken, and this is way i love these partyies, you can just be in the same room, drinking and having a good time, away....

sidenote 3: at the end also when all the students were done, and yelling and flinging water at chef moran, i thought it was the best thing i saw at the party, i rememeber how it was looking up at my own professors and feeling proud, of what the student class had done. it was super great to see.

sidenote 4: some ribs i had were excellent!
