food for thought: book

by philp j. romano.
who is this guy, the idea man who started fuddruckers and macaroni grill and eatzi's
another book my mom sent me, that my dad gets in the office, i would never buy this book, 22 bucks. no way.
because the festival is coming up, for the last 3 weeks here, all i read, watch, and try to put together is food, food, food. everything and anything that is related to food, chefs, restaurants etc.
i'm getting fooded out.
i read this book in about 3 days.
what did i learn from this guy?
if you have an idea, stick with it, no matter what anyone tells, half the time people are so by the book, well according to this guy who's the person who wrote that book.
make your own up.
this guy has a great way of talking to people.
find money to back the project up, not your own money.
when people think they own a piece of it, they tend to go to the restaurant more.
stop talking and just start doing.

i read a book about real estate in palm beach a couple of years ago, i think if i remember correcty that this guy torn down a really historial house there on the ocean and built a really eye sore castle, and the neighbors were really angry at him.

also after 10 years i finally figured out why the cozymel's in san antonio was fantastic, when i ate there, and the cozymel's in ft, myers was terrible.

the one in texas was the one he devloped, and then sold the fransize to "chilli's corp". no wonder.

i ate at the orginal one, the chilli's people really fucked the how concept and food up. i think the whole thing is out of business now, at least the ft. myers one is.

also, the book does not say, it just goes into how eatizs was opening in chicago. well......it opened all right, and guess what. it closed down. out of business. my sister liked it, i never ate there, or bought anything, seemed way over priced.
